Natural Element Effects of Solid Wood Furniture
Exposure to sunlight, heater vents, air conditioner, extreme climates, such as: high mountains, the desert, extreme cold or heat will speed up the aging process of any real wood furniture. These natural causes will cause checking and cracking to be exaggerated beyond what is the norm in a more temperate climate. These natural factors cannot be considered manufacturing defects, but rather a result of the environment itself, which is beyond the control of the manufacturer. These natural elements must be considered when selecting furniture with panels that may shrink and expose raw wood and cracking that may be noticeable. Customers that live in these extreme environments should understand the effects of these factors. Generally, these factors won't affect the structural integrity of the piece, unless conditions are severely unforgiving. If natural elements cause extreme characteristic changes to the wood, customers may need to schedule maintenance by an experienced technician.
